Member of Parliament for Worcester from 1852 – 1860 to 1868 – 1874, William Laslett practiced as a solicitor in the City from the 1830s until 1846.

He was called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 1856. He was responsible for the funding and endowment of Lazlett’s Almhouses in Friar Street which gave shelter to 33 old people.
