Diana Ogilvy has the distinction of being Worcester’s first woman Mayor. She was the daughter of the Rev. C.W.V. Ogilvy and worked for the Red Cross during World War 1, becoming Commandant of the VAD hospital in Battenhall. She retained her interest in nursing after the war and entered local politics, standing as an independent candidate for St.Martin’s Ward in 1929.

She was appointed Mayor for the year 1931-1932 and served as a J.P. for 20 years. Diana Ogilvy died on 26th March 1955.
